Kanta Kishore Moharana was born on 30 June 1980 into a family of traditional carvers near Bhubaneswar, Orissa, India. Since his childhood Kanta Kishore has played with carving tools, wood and other materials.
He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from B.K. College of Art and Crafts and studied masters from Govt. Faculty of Arts and Crafts, Calcutta. During his stay in Calcutta, he experimented with various local mediums with his concepts and endeared himself to all contemporary sculptors.
Kanta Kishore is fascinated by social issues, by problems related to human daily life, such as urbanization and globalization.
Examples of Kanta Kishore Moharana’s sculptural presentations are violence against women, labor protests, child labor, hunger, unemployment and terrorist activities in India.
